La Balkan Anarchist Bookfair – Fiera del libro anarchico dei Balcani – è un progetto ventennale che si tiene quasi ogni anno in diversi paesi del Balcani. Iniziato a Ljubljana, in Slovenia, nel 2003, torna a Ljubljana per il suo 20esimo compleanno, dal 7 al 9 luglio 2023.

Per noi il concetto di BAB non ha mai riguardato solo i libri. Lo abbiamo sempre inteso come uno strumento per rafforzare i nostri gruppi, organizzazioni, relazioni e reti a livello locale, regionale e internazionale. Lo intendiamo come uno spazio in cui scambiare le nostre idee, analisi, prospettive e confrontare le nostre pratiche, i nostri modelli di organizzazione e le nostre esperienze di lotta, le nostre partecipazioni ai movimenti sociali e l'inserimento delle nostre idee in essi.

L'assemblea organizzativa della BAB 2023 sta preparando una serie di presentazioni del progetto ai nostri più vicini compagni nella regione, seguendo la decisione dell'assemblea di confermare le nostre relazioni con gruppi più o meno formali, reti e individui che vorrebbero partecipare all'evento nell'estate del 2023.

Presenteremo la storia della fiera del libro, parleremo dei nostri principi organizzativi, delle nostre speranze e dei nostri piani per l'evento a Ljubljana e per il futuro del movimento anarchico e antiautoritario.

Saremmo contenti di ricevere pensieri, idee, commenti sul programma dell'evento, così come di sviluppare una più ampia discussione sul ruolo delle fiere del libro nel movimento anarchico, localmente o internazionalmente.

Ci piacerebbe in particolare incontrare progetti editoriali autorganizzati, che siano piccoli o grandi, saltuari o periodici, collettivi o individui a cui piacerebbe prendere parte alla fiera del libro, oltre a gruppi politici, organizzazioni, attivisti.

Nessuna nazione ci unisce, nessuna guerra ci dividerà!

20 years of Balkan Anarchist Bookfair:
Over the walls of nationalism and war!*

Presentation of the project and of the event BAB in Ljubljana (7-9. July
2023)

Balkan Anarchist Bookfair is a 20 year old project that takes place
almost every year in different Balkan countries starting from Ljubljana,
Slovenia in 2003 and again coming back to Ljubljana for its 20 birthday,
from 7th to 9th of July 2023.
The concept of BAB was never only about the books. It was always
understood as a tool for strengthening our groups, organizations,
relations and networks on local, regional and international level. It is
a space to exchange our ideas, analysis, perspectives and confront our
practices, models of organizing and experiences of struggle, of our
participation in social movements and of inserting our ideas in them.

The organisational assembly of BAB 2023 is organising a series of
presentations of the project to our nearest comrades from the region,
following the decision of the assembly to further confirm our
relationships with formal or less formal groups, networks and
individuals who we would like to see joining the event in summer 2023.

We will be presenting the history of the bookfair, talk about our
principles of organising and our hopes and plans for the event in
Ljubljana and for the future of anarchist and anti-authoritarian
network. We would welcome thoughts, ideas,
comments on the programme of the event, as well as a broader discussion
about the role of book fairs in the anarchist movement, locally or
internationally.
We would especially like to meet small/big/onetime/regular self
organised publishing projects – collectives or individuals that would
like to take part in the bookfair and political groups, organizations
and activists.

No nation unites us, no war will divide us!

1990's and which was also the name of the anarchist paper that was
published at the time by comrades from different countries of former
Yugoslavia.
